Dinner to include traditional Native American touches
Celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving with family, neighbors and friends at the 6th annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by Black Bear Crossings Café and Banquet Center. On November 22, from noon – 2 p.m., the team at Black Bear Crossings, along with some volunteers, will be serving up a Thanksgiving feast to anyone who would like to attend.
Keeping with Black Bear Crossings’ Native American roots, the menu will feature traditional Thanksgiving food items, including turkey, vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy and pie, as well as some items that feature a Native American twist, such as apple wild rice dressing. The meal will begin with a traditional Native Blessing by Jerry Dearly, a nationally recognized pow-wow emcee and respected elder spiritual leader of the Oglala Lakota tribe.
