Restaurant in St. Paul

Crispy crust, melted mozzarella, tangy sauce, toppings piled high—some nights, pizza just calls my name – loudly! Thankfully, pizza is one of the few foods that my entire family will happily eat with not a complaint to be heard. My husband likes sausage and mushroom while my mottos is “the more toppings the better.”

We do run into a problem, however, because we have a daughter who has a dairy allergy, and even if we specify no cheese for toppings some crusts do contain milk. Lucky for us, Black Bear Crossings Café and Banquet Center has a variety of pizza options. Certain food allergy sufferers will be happy to know that they have two crusts, one that is dairy free and one that is gluten free.

You can buy regular crust cheese and one-topping pizza servings by the slice, and a number of yummy options by the pie, including meat lovers, veggie, BBQ chicken and a combo “garbage” pizza. There’s something for every taste bud preference. Pizzas are made fresh to order in either a 16” hand-tossed original crust or 12” gluten-free crust.

This café in St. Paul is located in scenic Como Park, which means you get your favorite pizza pie and a glorious view to go with it. You can also pair it with a great salad, such as the cran-citrus salad, and a glass of wine to make your meal absolutely divine.

So the next time your, “I need pizza!” alarm goes off, head to the historic pavilion in Como Park and enjoy the view and a tasty slice.  It’s a perfect pizza pairing.
